My fiance and I often refer to our current year as the "Remember When" years. These are the years we will look back on and either laugh or sigh with relief that we made it through. Both, solid actors, in an industry with so much unknown and no security can drive just about anyone insane. But for some reason, Hollywood has brought me peace and harmony. Maybe it's because I'm an artist at heart and too much constancy causes my brain to short circuit.
We could psychoanalyze why this is this way. Which came first "The chicken or the egg?". Was I born an artist with creative juices needing different stimuli to survive or did my uprearing cause my synapses to misfire turning me into what I am today?
Lets go one step further, are you who you are because you were innately born as such or did surrounding circumstances thrust upon you mold you into the personality you are today? I guess that's not really going one step further, it's more like a sideline question.
Whatever the case, most would say it's a hybrid of both. I say, you were born that way. Your true nature shines through during the difficult times- the "Remember When" years.
I love the "Remember When" years, because it makes me remember a time when we banded together to make it through and that was the foundation for our strong union. Family and bonding is created in the "Remember When" years. Our memories, our laughs, our tears, or sorrows, and our joys. OUR friends, our family, and the passers by. All part of our "Remember When" years.
Course this could be our catch phrase just to make us feel better when all is falling apart. At least we hold each other and laugh through it bonded by it.
